Mark Thoresen (Torro)
Managing Director, Principal Consultant
Mark is a former military Qualified Flying Instructor, Check Captain, Testing Officer, Display Pilot, and Maintenance Test Pilot; and maintains qualifications as a civilian pilot and flying instructor. He has accumulated more than 7500 hours experience on over 35 aircraft types. Mark's commercial experience was gained in the finance and futures industries, and through business development and consulting roles prior to and following his 15 years military experience as a pilot, flying instructor and training manager.
As a senior consultant and manager with a wealth of commercial and military experience, Mark has a broad and in-depth understanding of the aerospace industry. He has provided consultancy services, mentorship and guidance to organisations with a strategic, operational or training systems focus. Mark has a reputation for developing and exploiting networks quickly and has a formidable track record as a concept and solution developer.
Having worked in the Defence aerospace industry for 20 years, Mark knows first hand the difficulty in fulfilling customer expectations and meeting regulator compliance. Mark decided to form ACTS to meet the need for specialist and insightful support to Defence and industry organisations.
Mark's vision is for ACTS to be the repository or 'bank' that provides access to highly skilled experts that individual organisations can not organically develop or maintain. By bringing together a collection of clever thinkers and capable doers, ACTS will facilitate client access to capabilities and capacity they may not possess or cannot economically maintain.
Steve Pearce
Manager, Strategy and Market Development
Steve is a senior engineer and manager with 23 years post-graduate experience in the Defence and Aerospace industries, the last 11 years in the role of a professional services consultant and Business Development Manager. Throughout his career, Steve has had direct experience in the provision of project management and engineering management support to complex major capital equipment acquisition projects, has worked as an integral member of a strategic planning team for a prominent Government Business Enterprise and has had extensive business development experience.
From his experience, Steve has developed a strong understanding of the Defence and Aerospace business sectors and a consequent ability to rapidly identify and address client needs. Steve is a firm believer in the value of relationships in business and this, in combination with his commitment to providing high quality consulting services that exceed client expectations, has enabled Steve to establish a wide network of Industry contacts, which, in turn, generates access to further business opportunities for clients and colleagues alike.
Steve is excited by the potential of ACTS to become a pre-eminent consulting organisation in the Defence and Aerospace Industries and is keen to exhibit this potential to existing and new clients.
